PPP assures youth of sustainable jobs

The flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has told students of the University of Ghana, Legon that the PPP is the only party with the track record and experience to provide sustainable jobs for the unemployed youth in Ghana.

Dr. Nduom was speaking at the PPP Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency campaign launch in Accra over the weekend.

He said the PPP approach to job creation was more realistic and sustainable, cautioning the students against wasting their votes on “promise happy candidates” who have no idea about job creation.
He said the PPP policy vision to build an inter-region highway with the same high quality throughout the country to open up the country for investment and development, is geared towards accelerated job creation nationally.

“We will use government’s purchasing power to ensure that we eat what we grow and use what we produce in Ghana. Improve Ghana’s business climate to enable investment in job creation so that our people will stay at home to help develop the country and its economy. We will be relentless in providing support to Ghanaian industry and our farmers and fishermen using low interest loans, technical assistance, tax incentives and priority access to the Ghanaian market,” he said.

The campaign launch was on the theme: “Change is Coming Get Involved.”

Sharing his vision for the constituency at the launch, the PPP parliamentary candidate, William Dowokpor, said the constituency will experience reliable utility and public services, security to life and property and jobs for the youth under his leadership.

“I will revive the Residents’ Associations that are currently comatose and organise them into active community interest groups that will engage the city authorities on daily basis to ensure public services due them in the constituency are delivered,” he said.

On the Graduate Students’ Allowance problem, William Dowokpor assured that he will work with the authorities to make them understand the importance of the allowances for graduate studies to give it the priority it deserves.

“Under my leadership as your MP, I will engage the authorities to ensure the allowances are released on schedule and in adequate amounts that will make graduates work financially stress free,” he reassured.

Mr. Dowokpor used the occasion to urge the entire university community to get involved in his campaign to bring change to Ghana and the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.
